From the idea to the build of the prototype.
This is the exciting beginning of our shoes with pen and last.
With creativity our designer
unites look and fit, color and function.

After the creation of the cutting pattern
for every size, the basis for all further steps
is set with precise guiding of the knife.

Now the individual leather parts
are assembled. Carefulness is important
as unattractive stitches would disturb the look.

The special insole is attached to the last
(AGO technique).

The upper part is pulled over the last
and glued to the special insole.

Last and upper part of the shoe
are placed on the assembly line.

If the shoe is produced with the Strobel technique,
the finished upper part is pulled over the last.

Two peas in a pod?
Here we make sure that both heels
have the exact same height.

In order to prepare gluing of the sole,
the side seams are roughened.

Glue is put onto the sole.

The upper part of the shoe
is pressed to the outsole.

Now our unique footbeds are inserted
into the shoe making it complete.

One last glance: Does the show meet
Hartjes quality standards?
Then it can pass.

Covered in tissue paper within the shoebox.
This way, our shoes are well protected
for shipment.
